Nottingham hasn't got many old buildings left like that, which in a way is a shame; they still have an old pub and the lace market. They have tried to bring Nottingham up with the times, by adding the new Corner House in. It hasn't really changed the feel to Nottingham in anyway. It has provided more entertainment for old and young people around Nottingham and it is a feature that people would like to go and see. Unlike York where it is known for its historical buildings Nottingham hasn't got that many historical buildings. It has Robin Hood, the castle and caves that hopefully will remain with Nottingham but I think that a few modern buildings wouldn't spoil anything about it, it would only make it better.
I don't think anyone could define a building as being a thing of beauty, because all buildings are different and people have different points of view. Young people may class modern buildings as a thing of beauty but then older generations may think that they are spoiling a town or city and that they should keep historical buildings, who knows!
